NOTE: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will require the 2011 income information from the student as well as the parent(s) of dependent students. If you are required to file a 2011 Tax Form it is best to have your taxes completed prior to the College Goal Sunday event on February 26, 2012.

to find the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) location nearest your home. The VITA Program offers assistance to low and moderate income (generally $49,000 and below) residents. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic returns at sites across the country.

To apply for state aid (TOPS, Go Grant) and federal aid (Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study, loans) you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid professionals will be on hand during the College Goal Sunday event to guide you (and your parents) through this application process. Computer labs will be open so that your electronic FAFSA can be completed and submitted on site.
