TOPIC: Reminder of  TOPS Core Curriculum Substitutions for Fine Arts Survey and Computer Literacy for All High School Graduates (including those in 1997 and 1998)

 

To assure that your Scholarship and Grant Policy and Procedure Manual remains current, please record this document on your TOPS Bulletin index and retain it with your manual.

High school students, including those who graduated in 1997 and 1998, who wish to qualify for the TOPS may meet their Fine Arts Survey or Computer Literacy requirement by substituting another unit from among the other subjects listed in the core curriculum for which they received credit but which were not otherwise used to fulfill a course requirement.

Substitute courses in the core curriculum listed for Fine Arts Survey (two units Performance courses in Music, Dance and/or Theater; or two units of Studio Art or Visual Art) or for Computer Science, Computer Literacy or Business Computer Applications (at least one-half unit of an elective course related to computers that is approved by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education) may not be used in this way.
