President Clinton recently declared BALDWIN, CHOCTAW, and MOBILE counties in ALABAMA to be disaster areas because of storm damage and flooding that occurred in those counties beginning July 17. The President also declared LARIMER, LOGAN, and MORGAN counties in COLORADO to be disaster areas because of storm damage and flooding that occurred starting July 28.

The Department's interim disaster-related forbearance policies first outlined in LOSFA’s January 28, 1997 may be applied to assist residents of those six counties. We will notify you if additional areas are designated by the President or FEMA. Questions and concerns may be addressed to the Department's toll-free number at 1-800-433-7327, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
