LOSFA wants to alert you to potential problems caused by large disbursement files for USA Group EFT disbursement customers. When students return to school for fall terms, disbursement information for large groups of students is often delivered on a single date. The resulting disbursement files are frequently too large to process easily. Some problems with such files include:

Based on historical transmission information, you might receive such a file. To alleviate problems associated with the receipt of large files, you might consider increasing the number of disbursement dates, or staggering the dates. By receiving disbursement files more frequently, they will be smaller and less likely to cause processing delays. Your disbursement schedule can be adjusted with one week’s notice.

If you experience problems processing large disbursement files, consider the following options:

  1. Close all other applications when processing disbursement files.
  2. Wait until late in the day to begin importing or printing the disbursement files.

We encourage you to implement one or more of these steps to prevent delays in the delivery of funds to your students. Our goal is to keep service levels at their highest during peak periods. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact USA Group’s Electronic Services at 1-800-348-4606.
