To assure that your Scholarship and Grant Policy and Procedure Manual remains current, please record this document on your TOPS Bulletin index and retain it with your manual.

Prior recipients of the Louisiana Honors (LAH) Scholarship who now are receiving a TOPS award are eligible for tuition payments for Summer Session 1999, at their discretion. Prior Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP) recipients are eligible for tuition payments for Summer Session 1999, if enrolled in a program in which Summer Session 1999 attendance is mandatory. Students enrolling in a mandatory course taught only in summer should be counseled that acceptance of TOPS tuition payment for a summer session will count as one of the 10 semesters available and reduce subsequent funding accordingly. Six credit hours is the minimum number of credit hours to qualify for summer session payments. Exceptions to the six hour minimum may be made for prior LAH recipients who need less than six hours to graduate and prior LAH and prior TAP recipients whose programs are limited to less than six hours.

For institutions which are members of the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, TOPS payment amounts for Summer Session 1999 will be the lesser of tuition or the following:

12 or more hours             $ 1,106

9 - 11 hours                      $    852

6 - 8 hours                        $    598

4 - 5 hours                        $    395

1 - 3 hours                        $    260
