At the request of the Advisory Committee to the Louisiana Student Financial Assistance Commission, we have enhanced the TOPS Portal to include fields that will enable students and financial aid office personnel to more accurately determine a student's TOPS eligibility status. Information regarding grades and payments may be viewed by accessing the Student Portal via the website www.osfa.state.la.us. If a student is a first year TOPS awardee, the current Initial Eligibility Screen will appear. If the student has completed at least one year, the new Renewal Eligibility Screen will appear, and if the student is initially ineligible, or is suspended or cancelled for grades or hours, the appropriate ineligible screen will appear. The student's social security number and date of birth will be required to access this information.

For renewal students the following new data may be viewed through the TOPS Portal and clicking on student:

An explanation of each field is easily accessed through a help screen at the "click here for explanation of terms" line at the top of the Renewal Eligibility Screen.

We encourage you to direct students to this TOPS Portal to aid them in monitoring their status. We also encourage Financial Aid Administrators and Scholarship Coordinators and their staffs to use this as a means of assisting students and resolving reporting problems.
