To assure that your Common Manual remains current, please record this document on your LPM/LPB index, and retain it in Appendix E of your manual.
Carter county in Tennessee has been designated to be a disaster area because of flooding that began January 6, 1998 and Avery and Mitchell counties in North Carolina have been designated to be disaster areas because of flooding that began January 7, 1998. The following disaster-related forbearance policies are authorized to assist FFEL borrowers who are residents of these areas.
Also, please correct your LPB dated January 5, 1998 entitled "Disaster Area - Typhoon Peka in Guam". The date in the first paragraph of the LPB should be December 16, 1997, and not December 16, 1977.
